Although the Online News Association isn't an urban entertainment news article, it has a tremendous impact to the success and motivation to this site.

Actually, because of trade associations like this, new media and digital media have learned to flourish with the every growing trend amongst youth today.


In fact, we live in a world where technology is everywhere and web content is accessible by a push of a button.  Wi-Fi is found in just about any major public place and the Internet is available to access from just about any electronic device.
 

Nevertheless, does this growth in technology have an effect on our lifestyles and cultures? Of course it does! In fact, because of technology news, entertainment, and television can be accessed easily by a flick of a finger. This new media trend has grown and developed into the technology driven world we live in today. 


The ONA is a trade association that focuses on digital journalist and creating them into technological innovative journalist. They are a non-profit organization that teaches, trains, and keeps up with the trends of digital new media journalism.


The ONA’s major program is their ONA Camps. The camps are customized digital training that is offered to journalists through their traveling training initiative. The initiative is a combined effort of major trade associations ranging in the field of journalism and new media.



Another great program is their Student Newsroom program. The program selects 20 students from around the country to come in and report on the national conference, which is held every year. The highly competitive program gives students the opportunity to get real world experience in journalism and digital media. The program is highly selective and very helpful to enriching the skills of the students who work the event.


This trade association is very important too my business because it helps me to stay current and up to date with digital media trends.


Secondly, the trade association gives out training to those who are in the journalism field. I would be able to learn new tricks to stay on top of my online journalistic platform. 

Last but not least, the association collaborates with other major associations. One in particular that is most relevant to this site is the National Association of Black Journalist. My connection with the would enrich my networks with fellow African American journalist who may be interested in urban entertainment media and digital media.


The end result of this organization would affect my business in a major positive way. It would allow me the ability to stay focused and on top of the competition.
